Apple WOW is the sight word learning program by Apple Story Club. The sight words are the high
frequency words seen most of the print materials. Sight words learning follows the whole word approach. This enables children to understand the word by sight, so that they do not need to spend time decoding the sounds of the letters. This makes reading easier for beginner readers and helps them become independent readers soon. Educators and parents can teach these words to the children by reading out the words and making the child repeat after them. It is important to practice these words daily to stay in the child’s memory. When introducing these words to children for the first time, especially for children below the age six, a maximum of five words from the list could be taught per day. Remember to revise the words regularly to help the child master the sight words.
